Text Box: Chapter Synopsis
Chapter 1:  Ministry Demystified
This chapter explores the relationship between dance and ministry.  Further, it examines the point at which dance changes from being an activity to being a vehicle used to fulfill ministry.

Excerpt:  "There are two ways to view dance in ministry.  One viewpoint holds that dance is the ministry.  If dance is the ministry, then simply dancing makes you obedient.  This thinking looks at dance ritualistically and removes it from the responsibility of having to bring what was requested.  It does not require you to consult God or submit to Him in any part of the process.  It just requires you to do the activity of dance and merits you based on how much you dance.  The other viewpoint holds dance simply as what is used to fulfill ministry, and requires us to continually go and find out what has been asked of us and to comply."
Chapter 2:  Place and Function
This chapter provides the context for the dancer's ministry.  It looks at the grander purpose for why the dancer does what they do; and it examines how the dancing minister impacts the body of Christ.

Excerpt:  "When you and I stand before the people of God to minister in the dance, we are directly affecting the evolution and development of the whole body of Christ.  This stands true when any of God's people go forth in their ministerial assignment.  We dance not just for ourselves or the event that we are attending.  We dance to affect far beyond those sitting in front of us, reaching even to the parts of the body we cannot see."
Chapter 3:  The Effectiveness of Dance Ministry
This chapter explores the qualities and attributes that are unique to the ministry of dance; and it examines how God particularly uses them.

Excerpt:  "What comes from that pulpit is direction and information for the house.  As God did with Moses, He reveals information we need for a victorious and progressive walk.  It is then our responsibility to keep ourselves connected to that word and apply it.  The dancer assists in this process by reinforcing what is declared through our song and movement.  It is vital, then, that our ministry help the people stay connected to the word in season, the right now word, coming from the pulpit.  This would mean if the man/woman of God is preaching about healing, we need to seek God for the right now song to reinforce what is being preached about healing.  Though you may have an absolutely anointed, God-breathed song about prosperity, your ministry, for the time being, is needed to reinforce healing."
Chapter 4:  Entering Dance Ministry
This chapter explores importance of being Spirit-led in the establishment and management of the ministry of dance.

Excerpt:  "The same degree of specificity needed to get something as simple as paper is also needed to fulfill our specific assignment in the dance.  Like paper, there are many things, besides knowing God wants you to dance, that need to be clarified.  Does He want you to join another dance ministry, start one, or assume the lead in an existing one?  Is it only for your church home or is it community based?  Is it outreach focused?  Recreation focused?  Who is your ministry specifically designed to reach and minister to?  Is there a process for joining your ministry?  What is it?  What does God want from you and your dancers, besides dancing, to prepare to minister through the dance?  Is your ministry to be set up like traditional dance ministries, or is it simply to be a place where you teach dance and God moves through your teaching and the fellowship?"

A splendid arrangement of revelation knowledge!

Stacy Meadows, Hush Company, Director, Los Angeles, CA

THANK YOU LORD!!!  I must say – when God answers a prayer, He truly comes through.  I am so excited about this book I could scream.  The spirit-filled writing, organization of ideas, obvious consideration in choice of words are just some of the reasons this book has made it to my “best of the best” collection!
Mya Hines, San Diego, CA

This book is more than thought-provoking.  It has unbound my creativity and moved me to another level, while reinforcing what I knew about my purpose in dance.  I will now use this book as required reading in my dance ministry workshops and teachings.
Loretta Green, Liturgical Movement Ministries, Atlanta, GA

Dancers! Assume the Position is a "must have" for anyone involved in, or considering dance ministry.  It is clear, concise and well-researched.  After 13 years of dance ministry, I have never found another resource like it!
Victoria Castanos, Revolution Dance and Performing Arts, Director

A must read!  Anointed and revelatory.  I would recommend Dancers! Assume the Position even to those who don't dance.  This book is a good book to read even if you serve in a different capacity.
LaQuin Meadows, Los Angeles, CA
